The track team is a healthy and fun way for students to be involved in school athletics. Several students were interviewed and asked what events they compete in as well as what they enjoy most about being on the track team.
“Throwing is a lot of fun, more people should do it,” said freshman Jack Karleskint.
There is a lot more to track than just throwing. Students compete in several events including hurdles, jumping, and running.
“I like track because I can do a lot of running and hanging out with my friends,” said freshman Reid Thorne. He also specifically said that he like to run because it gives him a feeling of freedom.
Track and field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing skills. In addition to training and competition the Piper athletics have an opportunity to make friends and work together as a team.
“Track is fun,” said freshman Zion Foster. “You get to run, jump, and hang out with your friends.”
Track is something fun to do with your friends and to hangout with people you like and make new friends. But it does require a lot of time and training as well as waiting at track meets. This provides a chance to get to know the other teammates as well as support the team while they are competing.
“Track is fun,” said Karleskint. “I enjoy running and throwing in the nice weather and just talking with people.”
Everyone said that on the track, you can run and do more while you hangout with your friends. It’s a fun way for students to be involved in school athletics.
